NEW ORLEANS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Dee Olmstead

You've seen it over and over, carefully posed couples on their wedding day unable to be in the moment because it's all so contrived.  You want something more.

You want to look back at these images and see yourselves, not the cookie cutter couple the wedding industry has led you to believe you should be.  You deserve SO much more. I've created a relaxed and effortless experience for couples just like you. I say screw the performance! Let's create stunning imagery filled with movement, light, and the kind of laughter that makes your belly hurt. After all, it's your wedding day, shouldn't it be about you?

So glad you're here, I'm Dee

A New Orleans Wedding Photographer

I've been where you are right now.  I was planning my wedding and searching for a photographer who's work and personality really spoke to me.

After spending what felt like weeks looking at every photographer I could find, I realized at the end I couldn't tell them apart.  They all started to look the same and say the same thing.

Where was I supposed to go if I wanted something different?  I decided in that moment to be the change I wanted to see and the rest is history.

"It was seriously the best day"

I was more picky about choosing a photographer than any other vendor and I can say that we chose the right one 100%, without a doubt!  You are the best of the best and we are so thankful for the time you've invested in us and in our photos!  They are so perfect!

I love seeing the look on my couple's faces when I deliver their images.  There are always happy tears and longing for the wedding day all over again.  It's magical.

The day we've all been waiting for, your wedding day!  I like to remind my couples to think about all the small moments that led them here.  All the things that had to happen in order for this day to come to life.  It's pretty amazing when you stop and think about each little stepping stone that brought you to this place. Make sure you soak it all in.  I'll typically spend between 8-12 hours making sure your wedding is captured to the fullest.

Wedding Day

Once you've booked, we'll schedule your engagement session.  Save the dates should typically be sent 6-9 months in advance.  We'll schedule your session accordingly.  Although I'm a New Orleans wedding photographer, we can shoot these anywhere in the US.

Engagement Session

Once you've inquired, we'll schedule a consultation call.  This is a great time to ask any questions that you might have and talk in detail about what you are planning for your wedding day.

Save The Date

The first thing couples want to know is if I'm available on their wedding date. Inquiring a year out is recommended. Wedding dates are first come, first serve.  In order to provide the best client experience possible, I limit the number of weddings I accept to 18 per year.

Although my main focus is weddings, I like to fill my calendar with family, boudoir, maternity, and portraits sessions in the off season.

Do you shoot more than weddings?

Since no two weddings are exactly the same, I offer custom pricing for each client.  Wedding pricing starts at $3,000.

What is the price point?

Most of my clients book a year or more in advance.  About 10% book 6-9 months before their wedding day.

When Should I Book?

Do you travel within the US?

Absolutely!  Although I am a New Orleans wedding photographer,  I shoot many destination weddings each year and love photographing out of the country as well.

What's your photographic specialty?

I specialize in weddings, engagements, bridals, elopements, and boudoir.

What Is Your Photography style?

I focus on images that are true to color and on the brighter side.  I want to show your day just how it was without heavy-handed editing.

Do you shoot film or digital?

For weddings I will typically shoot a few rolls of film.  With engagement or bridal sessions I will sometimes do about half the session on film and the rest on digital.

Do You Photograph Proposals?

New Orleans proposals are one of my favorite things to photograph.  I even help plan them.  Contact for details!

How many Weddings to You accept per year?

15. It's all about the client experience.  I want my couples to have a great time working with me.  Limiting the number of weddings I accept helps me give them an unforgettable experience.
