Where do I even start with these two?  Cassidy and Ric planned a beautiful country wedding at the White Magnolia with touches of blush, ivory, and delicate succulents.  I had so much fun shooting their details.  Everything was so cohesive and I could tell Cassidy put a lot of time into choosing each and every piece for her wedding day.  The girls were up in the bridal suite having a great time while the guys were hanging out by the cottages.  If you haven’t seen the cottages at this venue check out these cute quaint little buildings here.

It was a Summer day and the thick Louisiana heat laid on top of us like a blanket.  Everyone was so happy and excited about the day that it didn’t even make a difference.  Looking back I don’t think everyone really noticed!  We got Cassidy in her dress and headed down to set up for the first look.  Once Ric was in place, Cassidy headed down from the barn, walking slowly as she began to take in everything that was happening.  When she was a few steps away from Ric she told him to turn around and when he did his jaw just about hit the floor.  We all smiled and giggled.  Their love was infectious.

The rest of the day couldn’t have gone more beautifully.  Everything was complete perfection from the ceremony to the sparkler exit at the end of the night.   Scroll to see how it all turned out!  Also, check out more White Magnolia Weddings by clicking the link.

Glamorous Country Wedding in a Modern Barn

What a FANTASTIC wedding this was!  I’m so sad that it’s over.  I get to know my clients on such a personal level over the year I work with them that when everything’s over, it feels bittersweet.  Kaylee and Jacob are such a fun-loving couple and their wedding was exactly that.  From the time they started getting ready, to the time the reception was over, it was like one big party!  Their wedding took place at one of my favorite venues, White Oak Estate and Gardens in Baton Rouge.  This place has arguably the best staff and food of any other Baton Rouge venue.  I’ve seen couples get waited on hand and foot, not ever having to request anything.  It’s such a joy to watch the clients I love to get treated with such care by all their vendors.

The day started as most do, we arrived at the getting ready location and started shooting details.  It was a beautiful day and everything seemed to be going smoothly.  My second shooter headed to the groom’s location for some getting ready shots and we planned to meet at the venue for the first look.  However, when it came time to leave we were hit with a huge storm.  It started pouring, I mean literally POURING!  It got so bad that the roads flooded and we all started to get a little bit nervous.  As we ran all of our gear into the building to keep it from getting wet, I noticed a 4-foot area that hadn’t been touched by the rain. It was on the corner of the porch, just far away enough so guests wouldn’t see.  I knew it was perfect!  So we were resourceful and worked with what we had and it turned out great!  Kaylee and Jacob didn’t even notice the rain when they saw each other.  They embraced so sweetly and we all looked at each other with heart eyes.  They were total #coupleGoals.

The team at the White Oak moved everything indoors just in time for the ceremony.  What once was the reception site turned into a beautiful ceremony site with a fireplace focal point and gorgeous florals.  We couldn’t have asked for anything better!  By the time the night was over, there had been multiple dance competitions, guests singing their hearts out, and a truly wonderful bubble exit for a couple that deserved the best!  Check it out below.

Guys… I have happy tears as I write this.  I truly didn’t want this night to end!  Kaitlyn and Colby’s friends and family were so much fun and their attention to sweet details made my job as their photographer even more special.  Kaitlyn and Colby both lost their fathers and found lovely ways to incorporate them on the wedding day.  It was such an honor to be able to celebrate with these families and create memories for them to pass down to their children and grandchildren.  Everything was so perfect that day!  I just loved Colby’s reaction to seeing his bride-to-be for the first time in her gorgeous gown.  It reminded me of a kid on Christmas morning!  So sweet!  The ceremony took place at Ashley Manor, a contemporary barn and reception location.  Kaitlyn and Colby had a seat decorated for each of their fathers in the front aisle, complete with baseball caps and photos of special moments.  It was like they were there with them.  I literally had to focus on the task at hand to keep from crying.  They both giggled as they exchanged vows and finally shared their first kiss as husband and wife.  Since they did a first look we were able to roll right into the reception without any delays (grooms love this).  And as they partied for the next few hours, I was reminded of that “just married” feeling and how we should all strive to hang on to that.  Even as your relationship grows and changes, keep that feeling close always.  I know these two will!
